Computacenter goes live with Inchcape Fleet Solutions Autobid

Computacenter, a leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services & solutions, are delighted to announce that they have gone live with Inchcape Fleet Solutions’ competitive tendering product Autobid, after appointing them as Master Vendor supplier earlier this year.

In 2018, after several legislation changes and a full review of their fleet offering, Computacenter went to market in search of an innovative replacement for their current blended ECO and Contract Hire schemes.

Autobid was selected as an innovative and fully integrated funding system which will provide Computacenter with a competitive market-forces approach to their vehicle finance.  Via a panel of market-leading funders managed by IFS, Autobid will enable Computacenter to receive competitive real-time vehicle quotes for each and every vehicle order they place; delivering substantial cost savings to the business whilst providing all the benefits of a sole supply arrangement.

Keith Cook, Senior Manager Group Finance Operations at Computacenter said

“We are extremely pleased to be launching Autobid today and excited to see the changes it will make to our fleet moving forward. Recent legislative changes and complications resulting from WLTP have led to a hold on vehicle ordering, meaning we now have a backlog of circa 500 vehicles that need replacing over the next year, and we look forward to start working through these on Autobid.”

Computacenter have a well-developed employee car offering and by working in close partnership with IFS throughout the implementation of Autobid a number of enhancements were identified that will not only deliver on Computacenter’s company policies but will also deliver added value to the existing IFS customer base. These enhancements include Benefit In Kind (BIK) future year tax calculations and flexible treatment on driver contributions as well as detailed video reviews which are currently in development to help drivers make informed choices about the vehicles they are choosing.

Matthew Rumble, Managing Director at IFS said

“We are extremely proud to be working in partnership with a prestigious brand like Computacenter, to find solutions which not only benefit both parties, but will also help keep our wider customer base ahead in an ever-changing world.”
